Fresh produce moves in hours, but quality data has historically moved in days.
That gap shows up everywhere: missed defects, preventable rejections, frustrated growers, and retailers who only discover variability when it’s already on the dock.

In our latest webinar, we walked through some of our most recent updates. Many of these came directly from customers who have been feeling this friction every day:

  • Growers asking for clearer visibility into what buyers were seeing
  • QC teams need fast, powerful QC reports that can aggregate a lot of inspections together
  • Procurement leaders want easier reporting
  • Suppliers are pushing for a simpler way to share inspections.

Keep reading for a full summary of the newest Clarifresh platform features, and what each of them brings to the fresh produce supply chain table.

Innovation at the Core: Where We’re Investing

Our product leadership opened the session with an inside look at the three strategic areas that are driving Clarifresh forward:

1. Advanced Analytics & AI

We’re expanding our analytic capabilities and laying the groundwork for powerful new AI-driven insights. Expect deeper, smarter tools that surface trends, predict issues, and help teams make faster, more confident decisions.

2. Next-Generation Computer Vision

Early next year, customers will gain access to improved computer vision technology capable of identifying not only size and color—but also defects. This upgrade pushes automation to a whole new level.

3. Full Supply-Chain Enablement

We’re extending Clarifresh beyond today’s QC and procurement workflows to support growers, suppliers, retailers, and more. Many of the features below were built specifically for cross-organization collaboration.

A New Viewer Role: Easier Collaboration with Suppliers & Growers

“Small things sometimes make the biggest impact.”

Many customers told us they needed an easy, secure way to let suppliers or growers view inspections, without exposing unnecessary data.

We listened.

The new Viewer Role allows external partners to log in and see only their own approved inspections, complete with filtering and drill-down capabilities. It’s perfect for teams who frequently share inspection results and want to streamline communication.

With Viewer Roles:

  • Partners get real-time visibility.
  • Your team reduces manual back-and-forth.
  • Data sharing becomes seamless and secure.

Licenses for this role are now available.

A New Era of Reporting: Five New Charts + Enhanced Drill-Down

The platform’s reporting capabilities have always been one of its major strengths. With the latest round of updates, Clarifresh reports have become even more powerful.

We’ve introduced five new, fully customizable charts that help you identify patterns, compare supplier performance, and surface issues before they escalate.

Key New Charts

  • Root Cause Breakdown: Provides a broader and more detailed view of what influences inspection results.
  • Supplier/Grower Comparison: Benchmark performance across partners.
  • KPI Status Breakdown: Monitor workflow stages such as Approved, Completed, and In Progress.
  • Inspection Over Time: Track inspection volume and trends across any period.

New Drill-Down Experience

A simple green icon now lets you instantly filter reports by any grouping. This flexibility turns complex data into fast, actionable insight, right on command.

Export & Full-Screen Options

Every chart now supports:

  • Full-screen viewing.
  • PNG screenshot export.
  • CSV and Excel data download.

And yes, these improved charts are also available to Viewer Role users.

Game-Changing Flexibility for Batch Inspections

Many customers work with large, complex shipments that require sampling across multiple pallets or boxes. Until now, batch aggregation had limitations.

That changes today.

We have released a new batch aggregation engine that provides:

Full Flexibility

  • Aggregate sample inspections even if they use different process standards.
  • Combine data from different varieties.
  • Calculate averages and summaries automatically.

Dual Evaluation Standards

You can now evaluate the batch using a different quality standard than the one used for individual samples—unlocking cleaner, more accurate reporting for high-volume inspections.

Cleaner Batch-Level Reports

All aggregated defects, attributes, and grades appear as a single, unified batch-level inspection, making stakeholder communication much easier.

New Cross-Company Transparency for Shared Specs

If you share specs with partner companies, or receive inspection data created using your specs, there’s now a more transparent way to work together.

A new feature allows growers to approve their inspections, and share those approved inspections back with the spec-owner.

The receiving company can toggle “Show External Accounts” in reports to see all shared inspections instantly.

This creates a fully aligned, multi-company workflow that’s ideal for supply chains relying heavily on collaboration. As our Product Manager Jane Shpits describes it: “It’s a transparent way of working for companies that work together and are both Clarifresh customers.”

For supply chains built on trust (essentially, all of them), this is a timely improvement.

Coming Soon: AI-Powered Label Scanning

One of the most exciting announcements in the webinar was a preview of our new AI scanning tool.

Soon, using nothing but their mobile device, inspectors will be able to:

  • Scan a product label.
  • Automatically populate inspection fields like lot number, DG number, or other identifiers.
  • Reduce manual typing and speed up the intake process.

This feature is especially helpful for teams without ERP integrations or for new processes that aren’t yet automated.

More details to come in the next webinar.

Clarifresh Supports All Fresh Categories, Including Berries & Vegetables

During the Q&A, customers asked about category support. The answer is simple:

If it’s fresh, Clarifresh supports it.

That includes:

  • Over 135 produce categories.
  • Blueberries (with Level 2 computer vision).
  • Vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, leafy greens and more.

Whether you’re a grower, marketer, wholesaler, or retailer, the platform is built to support your entire fresh portfolio. You can find a detailed but non-exhaustive fresh produce category list here

Wrapping Up

Thank you to everyone who joined the webinar and contributed questions. Your feedback drives our roadmap, and many of the features above exist because customers asked for them.

There’s more coming on the AI front, especially tools that reduce manual work where it hurts most. Be sure to join our next webinar to stay up to date on all of these.

If you’d like help adopting any of these new features, or want to explore how they can improve your operation, our team is here to support you.
