Who is Wish Farms?
Wish Farms has been growing and shipping berries for more than 100 years. Based in Plant City, Florida, the company has grown from its roots in the “winter strawberry capital of the world” into an operation spanning multiple growing regions, including Florida and California.
That expansion created a familiar challenge for a fresh produce business: how do you scale operations across locations while maintaining the quality standards customers have come to expect?
For Wish Farms, the answer required rethinking how quality inspections were carried out and how inspection data moved through the business.

The challenge: maintaining consistent berry quality across a growing operation
Berries and strawberries leave very little room for delay. Their short shelf life means quality teams need to inspect incoming produce quickly and give the wider business the information it needs to make decisions.
As Wish Farms expanded geographically, its inspection processes became harder to scale. Manual paper trails consumed time, and maintaining consistent processes across locations became difficult.
Digitizing the inspection process from the moment product reaches the dock
Clarifresh replaced much of the manual work surrounding Wish Farms’ inspections with a connected digital workflow.
When a dock inspection begins, Clarifresh pulls information directly from Wish Farms’ ERP and automatically populates data such as the grower ID and pack size.
Inspectors therefore spend less time entering information and more time assessing the product itself.
Computer vision provides another level of automation, capturing measurements including size, color and selected defects during the inspection.
“This alone allows our team to conduct four times as many inspections, saving us over 70% of the time we used to spend on manual work.”
Four times the inspection capacity with greater consistency
Speed was only part of the objective. Wish Farms also wanted inspections conducted across different locations to reflect a common understanding of quality.
By standardizing inspection points and digitizing assessments, Clarifresh reduces the amount of inspector subjectivity within the process and gives teams a shared framework for evaluation.
Quality data reaches the business as soon as the inspection ends
Previously, recording inspection results was only the beginning of the process. Information still needed to reach the people responsible for supply, sales and quality decisions.
With Clarifresh, an automated report is generated once the inspection is completed, while dashboards give relevant teams immediate visibility into the results.
This allows quality information to become operational information. The team can assess shipments and decide whether to accept or reject them without waiting for paperwork or manual reporting to catch up.
As Wish Farms puts it:
“In this business, responsiveness is key. And if a field truck is waiting at the dock with questionable product, you need to grade and accept it or reject it quickly.”
Turning hours of quality analysis into minutes
Wish Farms is also using Clarifresh’s AI analytics to interrogate its accumulated quality data. Teams can ask questions of the data directly rather than manually assembling information from individual inspection records.
According to Wish Farms, an in-depth root-cause analysis of a particular defect trend that previously took around 10 hours can now be completed in approximately 10 minutes.
This gives quality teams more opportunity to investigate what is driving a problem while there is still time to act on it.
Up to 50% fewer rejections
The combination of standardized inspections, faster decision-making and shared quality data is producing measurable downstream results.
Wish Farms reports that it has significantly reduced claims and achieved up to a 50% decline in rejections since aligning its quality processes across locations.
For a business handling highly perishable berries, those results reach well beyond the QC department. Fewer rejected shipments mean less product caught in costly disputes and greater confidence that quality expectations are being understood before produce moves further through the supply chain.
Building a quality operation that can scale with Wish Farms
Wish Farms’ growth has taken the company well beyond a single geography, but its promise to customers remains tied to the freshness and quality of every shipment.
Digital inspections, computer vision and centralized quality data now give its teams a way to extend that standard as the business continues to grow across North America.
“As we scale across North America, Clarifresh gives us the data, speed, and confidence to grow thoughtfully without ever sacrificing our top-tier quality.”
For Wish Farms, quality control has therefore become more than a record of what happened at inspection. It is becoming a shared source of information for making faster decisions across quality, supply and sales.
